The Best Bookstore Reference Sections For Term Papers
1. Find the section or sections most closely related to the topic of your class. If you are writing a history paper, the first place to check should be the history section. Most bookstore sections are also organized by sub-topics, so if, for example, you are taking American history, there is likely to be a section of books specifically dedicated to that field. Keep in mind that there may be more than one group of books that you will find useful.
2. Check the sections dedicated to closely related topics. Helpful books might be found in sections of the bookstore that that at first don’t seem obviously related to your term paper topic. If you are writing about music, for example, you may find good information not only in the music section, but also the history section or even the psychology section. Think about what secondary themes your paper involves.
3. Visit the reference book section. Basic writing tools like dictionaries, thesauruses and style guides are invaluable when it comes down to revising and proofreading your term paper–an “A” paper is always well-written paper! Other helpful materials you might find in the reference section include research guides, atlases and encyclopedias.
